Course Description

This classroom course is designed to prepare prospective Class A and B Underground Storage Tank Operators to take the State of Ohio Class A and B Operator Evaluation at the end of the course.The course utilizes visual aids and instructor led commentary to facilitate the efficient and comprehensive learning of the subject matter required to meet the regulations for an Ohio UST Class A or B Operator. The training and certification course has been approved by the Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations (BUSTR), Division of State Fire Marshall, State of Ohio Department of Commerce,for becoming certified as a Class A and Class B UST Operator in Ohio.

Learning Objectives

The overall objective is to educate the prospective Class A or B operator on the State of Ohio and USEPA Federal Regulations governing the operation of underground storage tanks. The training is specific to the state‚Äôs regulations and will consist of several lessons throughout the day. At the end of the training with successful completion of the 20 question evaluation, students will receive their Certificate of Completion.

The following topics are covered in this course:

  • Class A, B and C Operator roles and responsibilities
  • Overview of UST systems
  • UST operator requirements
  • Release detection
  • Record keeping
  • Release reporting, confirmation, and corrective action

Seat Time

8:00am to 5:00pm, includes lunch break


There is a 20-question evaluation at the end of the training. Students are required to pass the evaluation. After passing the evaluation, the student will gain certification as a certified Class A-B UST Operator in Ohio.

Course Completion

Upon completion of the course, a Certificate of Completion of the Ohio Class A-B UST Operator Training will be sent to you via email.
